UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MILWAUKEE
LIBRARIES ARCHIVES
Wednesday | December 4
6:00 pm – 6:30 pm
Friday | December 6
6:30 pm – 7:00 pm
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) Libraries Archives would like to welcome AMIA members on a tour of their facility before the screenings at the UWM Union Cinema for Restoration Screening Night and Archival Screening Night. The screenings are a five minute (mostly indoor) walk from the library, so there will be plenty of time to see the facility and get you to the theater with time to spare.
The 30 minute tour will involve seeing the Archives’ new storage space, reading room, classroom, and processing area, completed in July 2023 as part of a large renovation project. We will also tour the basement storage space which holds our image and AV collections, including the WTMJ newsfilm collection, which spans about 2 million feet of 16mm film.
Tours are free but you must sign up via the registration form (it’s an add on) and you must be registered for the conference to attend. Please note – space is limited to 20 per tour, so if you sign up and cannot make it, please let us know so someone else can take your spot.
You must be registered for the conference to add on a tour.
