Conference 101
AMIA’s Education Committee has put together resources designed to help you get the most out of your conference-going experience, from creating the best presentation, to tips on networking. While many of the guides are focused on the AMIA Conference, you can use these skills at any conference you attend throughout the year.

At the Conference

Newcomers Orientation
Wednesday (Nov 28) – 5:45pm

Are you new to AMIA? Is this your first time at the annual conference? Have you been to our annual conference before but would like a refresher on how to make the most of it?  If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then be sure to join us! This lively and participative orientation is a great way to have a clear understanding of what AMIA is and does; meet other newcomers to the annual conference; get advice on conference sessions to attend based on your interests; meet AMIA volunteer leaders who will help introduce you to other members; feel that you are meeting up with old friends when you come to AMIA 2019 in Baltimore next year!

Meet the Navigators!
The Navigators are official welcomers to newcomers and a helping hand to anyone who might need help in navigating the conference. All of the Navigators have attended he conference multiple times – in fact, between them, the Navigators have attended more than 250 AMIA conferences!  They can offer insider information on how to work your way through the conference and are there for whatever you need – if they can’t help you they know who can!  You’ll see them sporting bright yellow badges throughout the conference.
