The new pAVilion area includes exhibit booths, but this year many of the booth spaces are areas for demos, skill shares, and information sharing hosted by committees and AMIA colleagues.

Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR)
The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) is an independent, nonprofit organization that forges strategies to enhance research, teaching, and learning environments in collaboration with libraries, cultural institutions, and communities of higher learning. Program Officer Joy Banks is available to share information and answer questions about CLIR’s activities including project initiatives and partnerships, publications, the DLF program, and award and fellowship opportunities including Recordings at Risk and Digitizing Hidden Collections.

Film Librarians Conference 2019
The second Film Librarians Conference will be in Spring 2019. Open Source Trancript Tools
Skill sharing how to set up an instance of open source transcription software Kaldi on your local machine, how to handle the timestamped output of Kaldi, and how to pair that output with another open source tool, the NYPL transcript editor, to easily correct the machine-generated transcripts with either staff time or crowdsourcing.

National Endowment for the Humanities
NEH Senior Program Officer Joshua Sternfeld from the Division of Preservation and Access will be available for 15-minute one-on-one consultations to discuss grant funding opportunities and project proposals. Please request by email (jsternfeld@neh.gov) in advance of the conference, if possible, your top three preferences for 15-minute sessions for the following Friday windows: 10-11am, 12-2pm, 3-5pm. Sessions will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If Friday is not convenient, Thursday availability is a possibility.

Are you a graduate student looking to sharpen your resume? Or are you an archivist already on the hunt for the perfect job? Vrecord Demo
Vrecord is an open source project to join together several open source tools (including ffmpeg, mpv, the decklink SDK, qctools, and cowsay) in order to create a simple tool designed to facilitate digitization of videotapes. Vrecord developers will provide demonstrations of vrecord and discuss how to use, test, and contribute to this open project.
