Resume Review

The Education Committee will be hosting a virtual resume review in conjunction with the AMIA 2020 virtual conference in November. In years past, the Education Committee has hosted an in-person resume review table in which we have asked reviewers to volunteer for 1-2 hour shifts and they review as many resumes as they are able to in that time frame based on demand. This summer we launched a virtual resume review pilot program with AMIA’s Diversity and Inclusion Fellows in which Fellows were paired with a reviewer and they shared their resume, reviewers took one week to review and send comments and then the pair met via Zoom to discuss the reviewers feedback. The whole process from start to finish took place over 2 weeks.

Seeking Virtual Resume Review Volunteers

We are looking for reviewers whose strengths lie in highlighting transferable skills from interests, activities and experience as well as overall advice regarding formatting and organizing a resume or CV. We hope to pair each reviewer with 1-3 folks seeking review, but let us know how many review sessions your schedules can accommodate and we will honor your requests.
