Accessibility and Acknowledgement
Accessibility Guidelines and Resources. To help us all to effectively engage with each other in this diverse community, we offer these practical recommendations for creating accessible presentations.
Land Acknowledgements. We encourage you to consider a land acknowledgement at the start of your presentation as a way of encouraging awareness of Indigenous presence and land rights in everyday life.
Recordings
PowerPoint and Keynote both support recording a presentation as part of their basic functionality. Another option is to schedule a Zoom meeting with just yourself or with your co-panelists, and/or with your program coordinator; record your presentation(s) during that meeting; and provide the recording. .
- Aspect Ratio 1920×1080
- Formats .MP4 preferred
- File Name sessionnumber_yourname.mp4
- Send presentation https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/AMIA
Slides
While slides will be run by the presenter, we strongly urge you to provide the tech with a backup copy of your presentation. Each session should have a single deck of slides (rather than individual presentations by presenters) if possible. Presentation slides should be delivered as a Google slide link (downloadable) or in Powerpoint.

- Send presentation https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/AMIA
Tech Checks
There will be six tech check times available for presenters. All tech checks are open to attend. Presenters can practice screen share, ask questions, or test video or sound elements of their presentations. The Tech Check Schedule is here.
