AMIA 2026 | Edit-A-Thon Thursday

Thursday, December 3 | 8:00 am

Start your Thursday morning at AMIA 2026 with coffee, conversation, and a little Wikipedia editing!

Help improve and expand Wikipedia entries about films on the National Film Registry. While some titles are well documented, many lesser-known films, home movies, and collections have little information available on Wikipedia, and some have no entries at all. Help us bring greater visibility to these culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant works and ensure they aren’t overlooked.

Whether you’re an experienced Wikipedia editor or a first-time contributor, we invite you to take part. No prior Wikipedia editing experience is necessary! Online training will be available before the conference, and a brief refresher session will be offered Thursday morning before the edit-a-thon begins.

Sign up to participate when you register (or add it to your registration – it’s in the Add-Ons section)! Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you more information about the training and the films we’ll be working on during the edit-a-thon.

And if you have a National Film Registry page you’ve always wanted to work on – adding new resources, images, or video – let us know and you can be assigned that film! Just one person can edit an article at a time.
